Spider Biotech is a young and dynamic biotechnology company founded in 2005 with the aim of developing synthetic peptide therapeutics. 

Antimicrobial host-defense peptides have been recognized as an important part of innate immunity found throughout the evolutionary tree that defend against invading bacteria, viruses, and fungi through membrane or metabolic disruption.

Inspired by natural antimicrobial peptides, Spider Biotech is developing a proprietary library of bioactive peptides and lipopeptides active against bacterial and viral infections. 
SpiderBiotech’s business strategy is to remain focused on the discovery and early-stage development of drug candidates and seek to establish partnerships with pharmaceutical companies for late-stage development and commercialization of its products.   

Our mission is to become leader in developing peptide-based antiinfectives to address the urgent and global problem posed by resistance to conventional treatments. The Company is headquartered at the Bioindustry Park del Canavese (Turin, Italy).
